Every day, I see these idiots out on Birmingham’s highways. They are reckless, speeding, cutting off other drivers, tailgating to the point of having to swerve into the emergency lane if the person they’re tailing has to brake … you get the idea. And every time it happens, I always think the same thing: Where’s a cop when you need one? The sad fact is, the majority of the mental midgets who do this usually get away with it.
Don’t get me wrong … Birmingham’s finest have a very tough job. Reading the newspaper alone tells me that. But I can’t help but WISH that every time I see one of these jerkwads, that a pair of blue and red lights will magically appear out of nowhere and the driver gets their (so richly deserved) comeuppance.
Well, this morning I saw one of them. He was in a small white sedan. He whizzed by me so quickly that I didn’t get a chance to see all of his license plate.
That’s just something I do, I read plates … I love personalized tags. :)
What little I did see was that he was a young man (and wore what looked like a pair of Wiley X‘s!). I was just getting on I-65 and traffic was pretty light … it’s early. This guy came up on me like I was doing 40 — apparently 80 wasn’t good enough for him? By habit, I checked out his tag and had just enough time to see 2 digits and he was gone, cutting off the car in front of me and swerving in and out of in front of several others as if we’re all standing still.
He had gotten about 1/4 mile ahead of me when I see a white cruiser come up on me quickly and passes by! I’m guessing that the young bonehead in the white sedan never saw him because he kept on doing as he had been and paid absolutely no attention to the police car until those blue and red blinkies went on!
On down the road a bit traffic slowed and that alone told me that the officer caught him and had him pulled over. I caught up and passed by and sure enough … the kid had his hands covering his face and the office was just getting out of his cruiser.
YAY! Score one for the police!
To that officer, I’d just like to say THANK YOU for pulling that asshole over!

I dare you to come to Holland and try out our traffic. We’re supposed to have some of the best roads in the world, which incidently means the Dutch can drive like total idiots (i really can’t think of any other wording). you should see what’s going on here on a daily basis (and no, there’s NEVER a sign of cops when you need them, not even every so often).

LOL, no thanks. ;)
