Wow it feels like this year is flying by. Seems like only yesterday the COVID-19 virus reached pandemic levels and we all had to learn to live our lives differently. But then again, when working at home, my days tend to blur together. I mean today is what … March the 216th, right?
It’s nice and cool outside today, and I’m hoping it stays nice this weekend. My migraines have been in overdrive this year, between my allergies and the rain storms that were coming through on a daily basis for a while. Football is finally back on TV, so as long as folks are careful, we can keep that going.
Except maybe Notre Dame … seriously guys, WTF?
But oh well … I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to handle Halloween. It was always my very favorite holiday, and I had originally planned to sit out in full costume and hand out candy to the neighborhood kids since this year it’s on the weekend.
Or, I could just stay inside and marathon classic monster movies. That’s always a good time. :)
(and the cats would be happier with me staying inside anyways!)
Things at work have been chaotic. There’s been a few layoffs which always has me feel bad for those let go. It’s never fun learning that someone you like and/or are friends with is about to lose their job. :(
Despite reassurances from my boss, I still worry about my own place with the company. I know I’m pretty freakin’ lucky to have a job right now, and quite honestly it’s not wise to start looking for a new job during a pandemic anyways when you have something stable(ish) already. But on the other hand, my current pay is just not cutting it. The cost of everything has skyrocketed, and despite trimming as much as I can from my budget, there’s some months that hurt more than others. (Ahem, CHRISTMAS!)
Anyways, the house needs more repairs … such as a new front porch and back deck. I had been looking at buying a house, but honestly I can’t do that right now anyways. Replacing the roof took a big chunk out of my savings and there’s still so much that still needs to be done to the house before I could even think of selling it. Part of me kinda wants to stay because of the convenient location … but I really REALLY want a garage. And a screened in porch/deck/type area would be nice too. (and maybe a jacuzzi/jetted tub!)
But I digress …
I had originally planned to work this weekend, but that turned out to be bad timing (honestly last weekend would have been better, but I spent it in bed sick). And I took all of next week off for a bit of a mental health break. I am hoping to get in a lot of football, monster flicks, and gaming. And maybe spend some quality time with the love interest. WOOO!!
Oh, and I created a few more fanlisting sites … and got a list of another 26 more potentials. LOL For now I’m waiting on approval for my Skulls, State of Alabama, Football, and Farm Together sites. They’ll show up on The Borg once the TFL staffers get everything processed.
Heh. Nyerk. :)
