I was reading just now on Fox 6 about a wreck involving former UA running back, Siran Stacy:

A collision involving a car driven by former Alabama football star Siran Stacy killed six people, including Stacy’s wife and four of his children, state troopers said Tuesday. Trooper spokeswoman Dorris Teague said the driver of the other vehicle also was killed and Stacy and his 3-year-old daughter were injured. She said the wreck occurred about 11 p.m. on U.S. 84 about six miles west of Dothan.

Update from The Birmingham News:

Fatally injured in Siran Stacy’s vehicle were Ellen Stacy, 36; Lequisa Stacy, 18; Sidney Stacy, 8; Bronson Stacy, 10; and Shelly Stacy, 3. The Stacy family lived in Newton.

I was fortunate enough to meet him years ago, when he played for Alabama. He struck me as a very nice young man. Stories such as this are always saddening, but even more so if it’s someone you know personally and/or has touched your life.
