Earlier this week I had explained to Jessie that the Alabama football player that she saw hurt in last Saturday’s game (Prothro, of course) had been in the hospital with a broken leg. She had seen pictures of him being carted off the field and said she felt sad for him, and wanted to send him a “Get Well Soon” card.
Awwwwww … isn’t that the sweetest thing you’ve ever heard? :)
So this afternoon Jim and I got home from work a little early, so I helped her lug the huge box of crayons, markers, stickers, glitter glue, construction paper, (and every other little craft project piece of crap I’ve stuffed in there LOL!) … downstairs and helped her pick out a card, showed her how to spell “Tyrone Prothro”, and told her his jersey number was ‘4’.
She drew a red stick figure with bowling ball-like muscles holding a helmet with a 4 on it. She wrote inside the card: “I’m Jessica and in I’m in the second grade. You are a cool football player. I hope you feel better soon. You are awesome.”
LOL, she watched me seal and stamp the envelope and insisted I put it in the mailbox tonight … as if the post might come early, hehehe.
Anyways, it was cute. :D
