History might be more easily remembered when it is told like a story with interesting expressions. I think not only the children, the parents will like to know about history if it is told with many creative ways.

It's a shame that true history is not taught in
government schools. Most of us had no idea of the
true nature of the American troops of the Vietnam
era, all we knew was what the propaganda, er, news
services put out.

I really enjoyed this article. One of my favorite things to blog about is the comparison of lives lost between all the wars. It's amazing how far we have come since Vietnam and especially WWII in protecting our own soldiers and limiting non-combatant casualties.

Thanks for posting this most interesting information. My time in the military ran from 1953 until 1970 (I was hoping it would be longer). I served in many locations around this globe we call earth, but I was fortunate in not being assigned to Vietnam or any other combat zone.

Wow, Nicki, thought provoking post! You started out reminding me of one of my favorite history teachers of all time who like your teacher made history interesting. And then wow, all the facts on the Vietnam vets and those falsely claiming to be vets. I had no idea.
