That blog post is dated 26th August 2007. The "last updated" date on the category in question (http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Authoring/Webmaster_Resources/Affiliate_Programs/Weblogs/) is currently "April 12, 2007". So any site that isn't currently showing there, was removed on or before 1th April. Whether or not he actually received those emails, the timing of things doesn't really match up. Perhaps more importantly, assuming that http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=150377 is by the same person, that bribery offer would be enough to earn the site in question a permanent ban -- which could well explain why the site was actually de-listed.
