Twitter down, WordPress up
May 16, 2007 by Nicki
Twitter seems to be a very jumpy cat this morning. I installed Twitbin only to find out that it kept rejecting my password because Twitter.com was down. (perfect ;P)
I received a notice last night that WordPress 2.2 has been released. However, considering the amount of trouble Jim had upgrading his site last night, I think I’m going to wait a few days and watch the Support forums before jumping on this one. Besides, I’m eagerly awaiting 2.3 for those nifty tagging features they keep promising!

I have a presentation to do this week and a class this weekend, so I’m going to need to put this upgrade on the backburner for a while. I loathe these upgrades, but in a weird way I jump at the chance to be the first on my block to have the latest greatest version of WordPress. Weird, I know.
Twitter doesn’t have the shine it once did, although it is useful as a cross-chat-protocol method of finding out if someone is in the same restaurant you are in.
I may hold off on upgrading my Wordpress sites – been too much of a pattern lately where a quick security fix follows a milestone. I predict we’re just a couple of days from 2.2.1
@Rick: It’s a geek status thing, LOL. There have been some builds where I’d jump on it as soon as it’s out, but this one I’ll watch first.
@Ike: LOL, yeah … it probably would’ve helped if I’d checked my Twitter at work (another reason I was looking for a Firefox/Twitter solution). I imagine that when I get my cellphone it will make it that much easier to post my tweets (and to be distracted by others’ tweets, LOL!).
Too late…I just upgraded it over at FatBloggers.
